From December 2025 to Easter Weekend in April 2026, Hermanus Whale Watchers offers an exciting Sunset Boat Cruise in and around Walker Bay Sanctuary.

An exhilarating 90-minute boat trip where we might encounter the playful dolphins and resident Bryde’s Whales while cruising along the rugged Walker Bay coastline marveling at the spectacular sunsets.

THE BOAT – Unathi is a 36-seater, 13-meter catamaran with two inboard diesel engines.
It is CHILD-FRIENDLY, fitted with restaurant-style seating that allows kids to get the maximum safe views of the ocean.
The upper deck offers a safe 360 degree , advantageous point for taking photos and the breathe in the fresh sea air.

THE CREW: You will be accompanied by a SAMSA-registered skipper and qualified crew members who are all SATOUR-registered guides.,

WhereNew Harbour in Hermanus, Western Cape, South Africa Our offices are located in the bright Orange Building on your right as you enter the harbour. The arrival time is 30 minutes before departure.
WeatherSUNSET CRUISES are EXTREMELY WEATHER DEPENDENT. The skipper will constantly monitor the weather and we will update you on the conditions.
What to WearIt is always cold at sea, especially when the sun sets and the boat moves. The crew will lower the retractable plastic curtains to shelter the cabin but we advise you to dress warmly. No Flip Flops - as you might slip on the wet surface.
Things to BringCamera, snacks, drinks, anti-nausea medication (Take this medication a few hours before the trip)
Guests or SpectatorsOnly paying guests will be allowed on the boat. ARRIVAL TIME IS 30 MINUTES BEFORE DEPARTURE

We might be fortunate to encounter dolphins and the resident Bryde’s Whales early in the trip.

The tour starts at our orange office on the right as you enter the New Harbour in Hermanus.
This tour is an easy, comfortable boat trip to showcase the stunning Walker Bay coastal cliffs, view of Hermanus from the ocean, and the spectacular Whale Coast sunsets.
You are welcome to bring drinks and snacks along.
